The felt cardboard does not offer any protection against the ingress of moisture. If moisture has reached the cover or gone underneath it, damage such as discoloration of the wood, swelling and warping of the parquet elements can be expected. Heavy mechanical traffic or heavy soiling of the surface as a result of repeated work may require different or additional protective measures such as the laying of fibreboard, for example.
